1. Be a Role Model

Don’t react, but respond positively to your child in any situation. This behavioral model is more likely to be absorbed by the child, and reflected with confidence, if they have felt it work on themselves.

2. Let them Explore

Allow your child to explore independently, let them figure things out by themselves and solve their own problems, as it can help them feel more confident in their abilities.

Also controlling them for the smallest of things can impact their confidence. But always keep an eye out from a distance, to ensure their safety!

3. Give Choices

Don’t choose for them, let them make their own choices, whether it be right or wrong. This can help them be more thoughtful while making decisions.

4. Trial and Error

Don’t overprotect and let them be oblivious to the concept of failure. Let them try, till they succeed, that’s how they learn new things and be confident at it.

Additionally, regardless of the outcome, always show sincere appreciation to a child’s effort.

5. Embrace Imperfections

Reminding them that imperfections are absolutely natural, can allow them to be less insecure on their disabilities.

6. Make Them Feel Loved

Always make your child feel loved, this one feeling must not fade with their mischief or meltdowns. If you are unable to figure out what is wrong try to connect first with your child, that too is a form of love.

Showing them love no matter what, can boost their self-esteem and help overcome some critical issues like self-doubt, frustration and even identity crisis.
